The fun Bohemian wedding in Ibiza
For my blog about this THE most beautiful, fun, bohemian wedding in Ibiza I just used the wedding description written by the gorgeous bride Claire:
“Most of our suppliers were small independents from Yorkshire and Ibiza. Most of the Ibiza suppliers were researched and recommended to us by Amanda from Hidden. The best part is that I feel we have made friends for life with all the suppliers we used!
Having made the decision to have our wedding in Ibiza, I researched lots of Bohemian hippy vintage style lace bridal dresses on Pinterest. I had an idea in my head what I wanted and thought that I could do something creative with my mums dress from 1979. I had walked passed Claire’s shop before as I always liked the idea of a vintage dress so got my mum to dig her dress out of the attic and send it to Leeds and made an appointment with the Bridal Emporium. It was one of the best decisions I made! Claire was great. We hit it of instantly and she came up with ideas a sketched based on all my dress idea pins! I loved the idea of having mums dress upcycled into a new handmade creation and that’s what I got! The whole process was amazing and I loved the fact that I had a piece of 70’s fashion for out Ibiza wedding.
My gold reebok classic trainers were a life saver! I knew I wanted to rave into the small hours and these were the perfect shoe! I would have worn them all day if I could!
As it was Ibiza, we didn’t like the idea of full suits and we wanted a very non-traditional style. We also wanted something that Chris could wear again and feel comfortable in. The shoes are the fashion piece de resistance!!
The decision to have our wedding in Ibiza came full circle from a warehouse city wedding in Leeds, to a festival barn style back to Ibiza! Having flown to Ibiza for a research trip in May, we visited a lot of venues. On our last day we took a trip north to our favourite beach and stumbled across Hidden bar! We decided to call in for a drink and were completely blown away with the venue and the hospitality of the amazing owners Amanda and Chris. We wanted a relaxed vibe and Amanda helped us with lots of contacts on the island. She put us in touch with Shovel who performed a shamanic wedding blessing and a special drum love circle for us. The ceremony was relaxed and exactly how we pictured it. The bouquet was a bouquet that I made myself on the morning of the wedding. The gorgeous mini maids are all our nieces and they did the best job walking me down the aisle with their signs handmade by the mother of the groom.
We had the most amazing food from tapas canapés and an evening BBQ from Sabor which was incredible. Chris from hidden also created a Claire & Chris cocktail for our guests after the ceremony!
Our wedding photographer from Ibiza Masha Kart took us to the beach to do some incredible shots. The photo with us on the rocks and the sea waves behind us is one of my favourites. We really enjoyed having Masha as we feel like we’ve made a new Ibiza friend and she was more of a guest at the wedding! We wanted to have lots of crazy party photos and Masha captured the entire day perfectly! The disco music from Andy boilerhouse was amazing. An eclectic mix of Ibiza classics and old disco and Motown tunes that had everyone dancing. The fancy dress was one of the funniest parts of the evening! ”
